Pre-requisites: Candidates must hold a Certificate of Competence for Principles of Safe Handling & Application of Pesticides (PA1 / 0216-49) prior to attending this course.
​Pesticides are very widely and successfully used in land-based industries but they can be potentially harmful substances. Therefore it is essential that they are handled, applied and stored correctly, therefore making training essential.
This course will guide you through the appropriate and safe use and application of installing pesticide plugs in tree stumps.
Who is it for?
If you need to remove tree stumps using ECOPLUGS then this training course is for you. This course will help you develop your knowledge of health and safety requirements and allow you to add to your continuous development.

Course objectives:
Legislative and Safety Regulations in relation to the use of pesticide plugs; pre-use checks; inserting pesticide plugs safely; prevention of environmental hazards and decontamination and storage of equipment.
Certification:
Learners attending the training for this Unit will receive a Lantra Awards E-Certificate of Attendance. Candidates who decide to undertake assessment for this Unit and complete this successfully will obtain a Certificate of Competence for City & Guilds Level 2 Award in the Safe Application of Pesticides using Pedestrian Handheld Equipment – Installing Pesticide Plugs in Tree Stumps.
