FAQ
Do I need to bring my own equipment & PPE?
Some courses require PPE and equipment which you can hire from us if you don't have. When you book onto our courses we will provide you with an equipment and PPE hire list if required.
Do I need my own transport?
For a majority of our courses we require you to have your own car to get to and from the practical sites. For our tree inspection & first aid courses this isn't required as you can access the site from the train station.
Do you provide food on the course or should I bring my own?
For the majority of courses we only provide tea, coffee and biscuits, so we recommend you bring your own lunch. For our Tree Inspection courses a light lunch is provided by us.
How many candidates can I book in per course?
The amount of candidates you can book per course depends on the type of course and the availability we have. For most courses we have up to 4 or 6 people per course with up to 12 for First Aid courses and up to 14 for 2 day & Basic Tree course.
Can I book an assessment only?
Or can I retake an assessment if I fail?
For many of our courses our assessments are integrated and we strongly advise you do the training. However if you have already done the training and require an assessment or a retake we can provide this.
Please read more here.
Do you do any blue light, services or student discounts?
We currently do not offer any discounts. However, the UK Forestry Commission do provide grants from their training fund. You can apply online and potentially acquire funding for a whole course.
Please read more on their website here.

What courses should I book to get started with arboriculture? Do you do beginner courses?
We would recommend our Step into Tree Surgery course. This is a 4-week training programme designed to provide hands on, practical training in tree surgery, along with the essential theoretical knowledge needed to develop your skills and provide all of the qualifications you will need to begin your career as a certified Tree Surgeon.
