Pre-requisites: This training is suitable for occasional/domestic users only. Whilst this may be suitable to some learners that only use a chainsaw as a minor part of their role, this course is not ideal if you are using a chainsaw in a professional capacity.
If you are going to use the chainsaw in a commercial capacity (i.e. work) and not on your own private land, it is a requirement that you hold a regulated qualification to satisfy the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). A Lantra occasional/domestic user course that provides training only would not be suitable as a pre-requisite if you wish to proceed to other training/qualifications such as Felling & Processing Trees up to 380mm.

This course will provide you with the appropriate techniques & safety guidelines to ensure that you are not only confident when using a chainsaw but also aware of relevant health and safety requirements making sure you stay protected.
Who is it for?
This course is ideal for domestic or occasional users who wish to learn the essential operation and maintenance of a chainsaw, for example you may have an area of Woodland at home that you want to manage.

Certification:
Once you have successfully carried out this course you will receive a Lantra Awards E-Certificate of Competence in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting.
If you are planning on using the Chainsaw regularly in your workplace, or want to progress onto further training such as Tree Felling we would recommend our 2-day Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross-cutting course with City & Guilds Assessment.
