June Blog Post

As we wrap up June, it's the perfect moment to look back and reflect on the amazing month we've had!

June has been an exciting month for us here at Land Skills Training & Assessments. Since moving into our new training site, we’ve already delivered several courses. A standout was our Basic Tree Survey and Inspection course with 14 trainees in our brand-new classroom. After the classroom sessions, we headed out to Brockham Recreational Ground for the tree survey and inspection. The hands-on experience was a real highlight for the trainees, especially when they discovered an oak processionary moth nest (pictured below).

Along with settling into our new site, we also launched a brand-new website designed to make it easier for you to find and book courses. We invite you to take a look and explore all the updates we’ve made.

We have also scheduled our first Multi Tool course for 06 & 07 November. This hands-on training covers operating equipment like handheld hedge trimmers, brush-cutters, trimmers, leaf blowers, and vacuums

To enhance accessibility, we are now introducing flexible payment plans on select higher-cost courses, allowing you to spread the cost over time for more convenience.

Supporting our trainees is important to us, so we’ve started sharing short videos on Instagram to help with course revision. These quick tips are designed to boost your confidence as you prepare for assessments. Head over to Land Skills (@landskillstraining) for more.

Putting skills into action is just as important as learning them. On our Hand Held Hedge Trimmer course, we tidied the hedge at the local recreational ground, improving the space while practicing practical skills.

On a sustainable note, some of the chestnut coppice trees we felled on one of our Felling and Processing Trees courses are now being split into timber to make chestnut fences at Norbury Park in partnership with Surrey County Council. It’s great to see how the work from our courses contributes to the environment and local community.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey so far. We look forward to welcoming more people to our new site and sharing more updates next month.
